  • What is aimtheory CRM?

aimtheory CRM is an open source CRM tool that is a re-branded deployment of vtiger CRM. Basically, it is pure vtiger CRM code with our brand and an enhanced theme for better usability and peformance.

  • What is vtiger CRM?

vtiger CRM is the most awesome open source CRM project, ever. Seriously, vtiger CRM has the most features out of SugarCRM, Zoho and FreeCRM--among others. The project is contributed to by mostly the vtiger team as well as developers all over the world. They have a strong partner network, including aimtheory.   • Can I still use extensions/modules from the vtiger community?

Yes, since aimtheoryCRM is built on pure vtiger, you can use code contributions from the vtiger community. You can do this through FTP access and we can assist you if there are any commands that you need to run on the server.

  • How much does aimtheory CRM cost?

You can get it in three packages: $29, $49 and $99 per month. Every package has no user limit and no limit on database records, such as Accounts, Leads, etc. The three packages come with 3GB, 10GB and 20GB of attachment storage--respectively--and each package has more processing power than the previous. Meaning that the Basic package has a low processing power or speed, the Plus package has more power and the Premium package has the most. See the pricing page for more details.

  • How is aimtheory able to charge so little for this service?

Because of our optimized application hosting platform, CELERASOL, which is built on Mosso's Cloud Server technology and Amazon's S3 storage solution, our operating costs are very low. These low operating costs translate to lower fees for you, the customer. The days of paying $60-$100 per user are over.

  •  Will I be able to get in and play with the source code and database, like I can with vtiger?

Absolutely, yes. Each account is setup with FTP access and mySQL access. Our support staff is also available to assist with the installation of vtiger extensions that your team may have a need for, as we work on a newer version of vtiger with many prepackaged vtiger extensions.
By modifying the source code or database or by working directly with the database outside of the API's, you recognize the risk that you take with your data and with you aimtheoryCRM instance. We won't be able to support you for free in the case of a disaster. We can help you with recovery, but not free of charge.

  • Can I integrate my other systems and my website with aimtheory CRM? Is there an API?

Thanks to the new vtiger CRM 5.1 release, the answer is Yes. aimtheory CRM now include a full-blown, JSON-based API so you can integrate your CRM with other popular SaaS products, a legacy system, an accounting system, or even your website/ecommerce store. We are working on creating much better documentation for the vtiger APIs as well as sample code in popular web languages. Keep an eye on our blog for news like that.

  • Can I get aimtheory CRM on my mobile phone?

Once again, thanks to the vtiger team, there is now a mobile client for aimteory CRM. We have made it available as a public beta in our demo site and on all new deployments. We are assisting the vtiger team with feedback collection.

  • How secure is my data? What if aimtheory blows up? Is all my stuff backed up?

First of all, your individual instance of aimtheory CRM runs through HTTPS with a 256-bit encrypted SSL connection. It's just as secure as your online banking website.
Second, your database and application code are backed up daily and weekly onto the Amazon S3 cloud for redundant storage. The weekly backups are overwritten every week, and during that week you can roll back to a daily backup as well. So, at any moment, you have a backup of yesterday's data and last week's.
On top of that, all of your data and application code is backed up iin the secure Mosso Cloud and in Amazon S3. There's nothing to worry about here.
